Privacy Policy
Last updated September 26, 2026
This policy explains what information The Ivy Bar & Kitchen ("The Ivy," "we," "us") collects through theivybk.com, what we do with it, and the choices you have. The Ivy is operated by Thirsty Angus LLC, 1625 W Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL 60613.
What we collect, and why
- Reservation requests. Your name, phone number, email, the date, time and party size you want, and any notes. We use it to hold your table and contact you about it.
- Private event inquiries and agreements. Your contact details and the details of your event. If you sign a private event agreement, we also keep your typed name, the date and time you signed, and the IP address you signed from, along with the agreement itself.
- Email list. Your email address, if you sign up for our newsletter or submit a reservation or event inquiry (see "Emails from us" below).
- Job applications. Your name, phone, email, the position you want, your availability and experience, and any resume or message you attach. We use it to consider you for a job.
- Website usage. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and links people use. It records things like the pages you view, your device and browser, and your approximate location, and it sets cookies to do so. Our server also keeps ordinary technical logs, which include IP addresses.
We do not collect or store payment card numbers on this website. Online orders, gift cards and invoiced deposits are handled by Toast on its own secure pages, and Toast's privacy policy applies there. Please never email or text us a card number.
Emails from us
If you sign up for our newsletter, we send you specials, events and news. When you submit a reservation request or a private event inquiry, we also add your email address to that list. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, or you can write to info@theivybk.com and we'll remove you. Emails about your own reservation or event, such as confirmations and agreements, are separate and are sent as needed.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run the website and the restaurant. They handle your information only to provide their service to us.
- Toast for online ordering, gift cards and payments.
- Resend to deliver our emails and to keep our email list.
- Google for Analytics, the embedded map, Google Calendar (where we schedule private events) and web fonts.
- Railway for the hosting and database that run this website.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information when the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of our guests, staff or business.
Cookies and similar tools
Google Analytics uses cookies to tell visits apart. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. We also store a small note in your browser so the newsletter pop-up doesn't keep reappearing after you've seen it.
How long we keep it
We keep reservation, event and agreement records for as long as we need them to run the business and meet tax, accounting and legal requirements, then delete them. Email addresses stay on our list until you unsubscribe. Job applications are kept for a limited time in case a position opens up.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@theivybk.com or call (773) 799-8160 and we'll respond as soon as we can. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we'll honor them.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections to this website and secure, private links for agreements. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so we can't promise absolute security.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
